If you have enlisted in the military and are waiting to get shipped out to boot camp or basic training, it is important to keep a watchful eye on your weight. Each branch of the military has their own separate height and weight requirements that need to be met at the MEPS station on the day that you leave for your training. Here's what you need to know.

Regulations Regarding Body Mass May Change

If you exceed the weight limits based on your height, a tape test may be done to measure your body fat percentage or body mass to see if you are within those limitations, which also vary by branch of service. However, this policy may change, so you'll need to ask your recruiter to provide you with any updates or changes that are made in this regulation. As regulations currently stand, if you fail the tape test, you will not be sent to training.

Lose Weight in a Healthy Way

Since you need to stay under the weight and body fat limitations so you can fulfill your dream of serving in the United States military, you'll need to work hard to achieve results. However, you have to do it in a healthy way since boot camp or basic training will be extremely demanding on your physical and mental health.

Of course, you already know to cut down on fats and calories and start exercising as well. Some recruiters schedule physical fitness training for their recruits on a regular basis. Participating in these events may or may not be mandatory, depending on your recruiter's requirements. However, it's a good idea to participate as often as possible to help condition your body and lose weight.

Detox Your Body with a Cleanse

It's also a good idea to do a cleanse to detoxify your body. A detox cleanse will rid your body of all the accumulated toxins and pollutants from your digestive system. Doing this will help your body to be better able to absorb all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals your body needs to be in tip-top shape to endure military training. There are several cleansing systems on the market, but you'll want to choose one that includes meal replacement shakes and supplements to detox, burn fat, retain muscle, control your appetite, and give you energy. Look for a detox cleanse system that provides a detailed schedule of when to take each product within the system.
